4 Days in Singapore

Day 1

This very first day I stepped in Singapore, I had myself somekind of amazed by the first place we’re studying. It’s the 3rd terminal of Changi Airport. It’s a “simple place” in form. It’s just like a huge Box I think. But this Huge box thing, has a great finishing especially for the roof. It has a sun controller designed simply beautiful, but perfectly cool. It has also a displaced air conditioner in the shape of huge speaker like to refresh the air. And for a little green aesthetics, There’s also a small forest like in the shape of green wall, inside.

And this “simple” room reminded me of what architecture is. Yes! It’s more about SPACE.

Plus, to make all this almost perfect, this 3rd terminal of Changi also has somekind of gallery or mini museum to inform us some interesting facts about Singapore. Feeling tired of exploring ? Just sit back and relax in front of huge glass wall facing one of the runway, and have a good time watching planes taking off to the blue sky.

After this amazing time in Changi, we went to City Square Mall to have a lunch and studying this first green concepted mall in Singapore. But I actually didn’t understand where’s the green point except the fact that it has green park on the roof top.

At about 5 in the afternoon of local time (Singapore is one hour earlier than Indonesia), we finally had a chance to have a pray in the nearest Mosque, and in this Indian mosque, they have a little different ablution area. They provide us a small seat facing a very low placed faucet. So we can only do this ablution if we’re sitting. Quite interesting I guess, and fun of course.

Done with these two buildings, we went to our hotel at Geylang. One interesting facts about geylang is, this is an area of prostitution. The worst area I visited during the 4 days I spent there. It’s quite similar to Jatinegara I think. And there in Geylang, everything that seem all well organized in Singapore is not happening.
